Northeast Planning Associates.

MIT Federal Credit Union provides our members with access to a wide array of investment and retirement planning support and product options through Northeast Planning Associates. Founder Mark Porter, CFP®, CFA®, his advisors and staff help clients work towards their financial objectives by becoming their Chief Financial Officer and presenting them with options and strategies to help accomplish what is important to them.

How we can help

Many members come to Northeast Planning Associates looking specifically for a Financial Plan. In this case, our advisors review your goals and resources in initial meetings, and help you understand where you stand in relation to important decisions such as retirement, education or real estate purchases. They will identify if you are not on track and provide recommendations on how best to pursue your goals. The financial planning analysis also includes a risk management review. After an initial set of meetings to produce the recommendations, members usually meet with our planners semi-annually and as needed to review their financial plan. A flat annual fee is charged for the planning service with that fee determined at the initial complementary consultation.

Members also come to Northeast Planning Associates for help with their investments including IRAs, Roth IRAs or taxable investment accounts. With accounts transferred to their broker/dealer, LPL Financial, our advisors can recommend a wide arrange of traditional and Socially Responsible investment solutions including ETFs, Mutual Funds, and Annuities through both advisory and brokerage platforms. Help with investments can come as a stand-alone service or in conjunction with financial planning..

Finally, our advisors are also licensed to assist members with needs around life insurance, disability insurance and long-term care insurance. Our advisors can simply provide the insurance requested or provide specific recommendations based on a financial plan.

Responsible Investing: Aligning your financial goals with your values

The world is changing faster than ever, with environment and social pressures growing more acute. Climate change, shifting demographics and the technology revolution are reshaping our planet. For investors, this rapidly changing landscape creates opportunities to potentially reduce risk and improve returns all while staying consistent with their values.

So what is Responsible Investing? It's an approach to investing that aims to incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions, to better manage risk and generate sustainable, long-term returns.

An Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) fund’s policy could cause it to perform differently compared to funds that do not have such a policy.
