Our “core”, or core processing system, is the software that manages our credit union’s financial technology. It controls everything from opening accounts, maintaining transaction records, servicing loans and maintaining all our members’ account records. At MIT FCU, keeping our members’ information secure and private, and in its best technological health, is a top priority for the long-term care of our members.

We are upgrading our core processing system to bring members a more modern and enhanced banking experience. This new platform will introduce features that allow you to manage your money more effectively and access functionalities you’ve asked for, enabling a smoother and more intuitive banking journey. Upgrading our core system and online banking solution will unlock a range of benefits, including increasing efficiency, improving your experience, and accessing innovative features. Ultimately, this will assist in providing you with the convenience and flexibility expected in today’s digital age.

Yes, keeping your personal information safe and secure is always a top priority for MIT FCU. This system upgrade will not compromise your data in any way.

We will officially be transitioning to our new core processing system beginning on Friday, October 31st, 2025. The conversion will be completed on Monday, November 3rd, 2025.

Yes, you will continue to be able to utilize your current checks. Next time you request checks, they will have your updated account numbers. 

No. Members external account transfers will not process during the core transformation.

While your member number will not change your individual products will receive their own unique account number. These account numbers will be used for BillPay and person-to-person payments.

No. BillPay and external transfers set up through our online banking system will not be available in online banking during the conversion.

No, you will not need to re-enroll in e-statements.

Yes, your history will be carried over and available in the new system.

Yes, 12 months of transactions will remain available.

Yes, debit cards will function as normal during the Core Transformation.

Yes, your funds will remain safe and secure. Each account is fully insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000.

Yes, you will be able to withdraw cash from ATMs, and debit card will function normally.

To ensure a seamless transition, if you have a bill, direct deposit, wire transfer, or external loan payment due between Friday, October 31st, and Monday, November 3rd, 2025, make adjustments to avoid being late. Also, make sure you have any cash you would need available for the core transformation weekend. 

Additionally, please update your contact information to stay informed about the upgrade and other vital notifications using the secure messaging feature in online banking, calling, or visiting a branch.

We have been working within a test environment of our new system for several months to help ensure member data has been verified, balanced, tested, and reviewed to confirm accuracy. For optional added reassurance, you can get a hard copy of your latest statement by printing it from online banking or saving your mailed copy.
