Recycle your used electronic equipment instead of tossing these items in the trash. Cell phones, PDAs, pagers, digital cameras, phone chargers, rechargeable batteries, ink and toner cartridges, keyboards, and computer mice can all be dropped off at the Customer Service desk of your local Staples. Staples will also accept computers, printers, and faxes for a fee of $10.
When you buy new eye glasses, donate your prior pair. Non-prescription sunglasses are also accepted. Collection facilities are located at Goodwill stores, LensCrafters stores, and Lions Club locations. All donations are sent to people in need of vision care who cannot afford to buy glasses.
Drop off your old cell phone or iPod at an Apple Store near you for recycling. When you do so, you'll receive a 10% discount towards your next iPod.
More than you think can be placed in a standard "paper" recycling bin: newspapers, magazines, glossy paper, sticky notes, envelopes (with or without plastic windows), junk mail, catalogs, soft cover books, and phone books.
