Learn More: Card Accountability and Disclosure (CARD) Act of 2009

The Credit Card Accountability and Disclosure (CARD) Act of 2009 went into affect on February 22, 2010. And while this act promises to safeguard consumers from abusive credit card practices, young adults (ages 18-21) are one of the groups most impacted.

So it is important to understand how these changes will affect you. You are no longer able to get a credit card if you are under the age of 21 unless you can show proof of income or have a co-signer who will vouch for you (like a parent).
