About Us
The MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU) was founded in 1940 to provide basic financial services to employees at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Today, the Credit Union serves employees of the MIT Campus, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Whitehead Institute, The Broad Institute, and employees of Bright Horizons Children's Centers who work at Lincoln Laboratory and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus locations. In addition, we're proud to serve MIT graduate and undergraduate students, MIT alumni, retirees of our employer groups, former employees, household members and the families of our Primary Members.
MITFCU offers a wide range of products and services designed to meet our members' financial service needs at a reasonable price.
The guiding inspiration for the way MITFCU conducts business is its mission statement:
The MIT Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, cooperative financial institution whose primary mission is to provide quality financial services that meet the needs of our members while ensuring the financial well-being of the organization.
MITFCU's member-owners are represented by an elected Board of Directors who are responsible for providing ongoing direction. The Chief Executive Officer and a staff of financial service professionals manage day-to-day operations.
Office locations are at 700 Technology Square (NE48) in Cambridge, MIT's Student Center (W20, Room 116) in Cambridge, and MIT Lincoln Laboratory (Building A, Room 100) in Lexington. We may be reached by e-mail, by telephone (617) 253-2845, or by fax (617) 258-5709.
